31 Stops is an intimate and poetic portrait of a city and its varied inhabitants, set against the backdrop of the Brussels Metro line.

synopsis

The visual thread running through the documentary 31 Stops is the Metro line crossing Brussels, whose route briefly brings together thousands of people and enables very different worlds to interact. The film follows six different people in their daily activities above and below ground by entering their streams of consciousness. What links them are stories of loss and absence; of dreams and desires.
La trame visuelle du documentaire 31 Arrêts est la ligne de métro qui traverse Bruxelles. Sur ce trajet à travers Bruxelles, ce sont chaque jour des milliers de personnes de gens qui se côtoient brièvement, des univers différents qui se croisent. Au fur et à mesure du film, nous suivons 6 personnages différents, dans leurs activités quotidiennes, sous terre et en surface en entrant dans le flux de leurs pensées. Les liens qui les unissent sont autant d’histoires de perte et de manque, de rêves et de désirs. 31 Arrêts est un portrait intimiste et poétique d’une ville et de ses divers habitants.

Dit traject brengt dagelijks duizenden mensen kortstondig samen, waarbij heel verschillende werelden elkaar ontmoeten.
