synopsis

Each day, the Carlingford Lough ferry carries people across the border between Northern Ireland and Ireland. This short journey brings different stories and reflections to the surface, while the border hides beneath the water. The film creates a kaleidoscopic narrative based on how people's thoughts and daily lives relate to this invisible line.
4 Seasons in a Day is een dynamisch portret van de grens tussen Ierland en Noord-Ierland op een zucht van de Brexit. Een ferry voert dagelijks passagiers over de Carlingford Lough, een adembenemende fjord die de grens tussen Ierland en Noord-Ierland vormt in het oosten. Terwijl de grens onzichtbaar voorbijschuift, brengt de korte overtocht uiteenlopende gevoelens aan de oppervlakte. Hoe diep het water tussen beiden kanten ook lijkt, de onvoorspelbaarheid van het weer hebben ze zonder meer gemeen.
