synopsis

The act of running is the focal point of Any Way: a continuous movement suspended in time. Varying frame rates allow the viewer to examine details of the motion that would otherwise be obscured by their speed. The repetitive soundscape and music generate suspense. Breath, heartbeat and the runners' strides give way to each other. Towards the end of the film the physical exertion turns into a state of bliss.
