synopsis

For almost three decades, a ringing bell on the door was the soundtrack to their lives. Only on Sundays was it quiet. Some of them died, but others still stand behind the same shop counters. The three grocery shops in this documentary are the last of their kind, with the shopkeepers all fighting for existence, and for the sake of their regular customers. This film tells the story of a generation that is about to vanish.
De drie winkeltjes die we in de deze documentaire volgen zijn in het dorp de laatste in hun soort. In deze winkeltjes hangt een zweem van vergankelijkheid, het einde dat om de hoek schuilt, een zaak waarvan de eigenaar langzaam zijn vaste klanten overleeft tot het licht in de zaak zelf uitgaat. Een documentaire over het verdwijnen van een generatie.
