In the 1990s, 8-year-old Agata leaves her home in Poland and travels by herself to Belgium. Her perceptions transform the reality of migration into an imaginative experience of initiation.

synopsis

In the '90s, a little girl named Agata leaves Poland for Belgium.

Anxious about her journey, she writes a letter to her father back home to pass the time, but she drops and loses her pencil on the bus. Forced to overcome her shyness, she wanders between the seats in search of the pencil, plunging into a fantastic world populated by strange half-human, half-animal passengers.

During this, her 8-year-old eyes transform the reality of migration into an initiatory experience.
Dans les années ’90, Agata, une petite fille, quitte la Pologne pour la Belgique.

Angoissée par ce périple, la fillette écrit une lettre à son père resté au pays, mais son
crayon tombe et se perd dans le bus. Obligée de surmonter sa timidité, elle se faufile entre les sièges à la recherche du crayon, plongeant dans un univers fantastique, peuplé d’étranges passagers mi-humains, mi-
animaux.

Du haut de ses 8 ans, son regard transforme la réalité migratoire en une expérience
initiatique.
In de jaren '90 vertrekt Agata, een klein meisje, van Polen naar België.

Angstig over haar reis schrijft ze een brief aan haar vader thuis om de tijd te doden, maar ze laat haar potlood vallen en verliest deze in de bus. Gedwongen om haar verlegenheid te overwinnen, doolt ze tussen de stoelen op zoek naar het potlood en stort ze zich in een fantastische wereld die bevolkt wordt door vreemde half-menselijke, half-dierlijke passagiers.

Hierbij veranderen haar 8-jarige ogen de realiteit van migratie in een inwijdingservaring.
