Le film se concentre sur le manque de distinction de Mathieu entre la réalité et l’imaginaire. Sa vie quotidienne est chamboulée par une rencontre avec une jeune femme. Elle vit dans une cabane en ruines dans les Hautes Fagnes. Elle parle sa propre langue, et parfois, elle est accompagnée d’un homme mystérieux… et elle incite Mathieu à tuer quelqu’un. Mais est-ce la réalité ou juste son imagination?
