A young surfer has to decide between her health and riding the waves.

synopsis

After a decade of suffering from complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), 20-year-old Sam opts to have her right leg amputated. Two years on, her zest for life is undiminished. She is keen to make up for lost time and realise her surfing dreams. Unfortunately, her condition flares up again. A doctor asks her: "Do you want to be young, or do you want to be cured?" Together with her parents, she continues her search for a treatment, while preparing the next trip with her all-girl surf tribe.
Sam (20) besloot twee jaar geleden om haar rechterbeen te laten amputeren, na een tien jaar durende lijdensweg als gevolg van een te late diagnose van de zeldzame aandoening CRPS. Met een waanzinnige levenslust is ze er nu op gebrand om haar surfdromen te verwezenlijken en alle verloren tijd in te halen. Helaas flakkert haar aandoening opnieuw op en wordt ze door een arts voor de keuze gesteld: 'Wil je jong zijn of wil je genezen?' Samen met haar ouders zet ze haar zoektocht naar een behandeling verder, terwijl ze alvast haar busje inlaadt voor de volgende surftrip met haar ladies surf-tribe.
