When a nuclear plant is sabotaged, the power grid in Belgium crashes. Prime Minister Annemie Hillebrand is forced to prolong the blackout, otherwise her kidnapped daughter will die.

synopsis

A nuclear plant in Belgium is sabotaged during winter causing a nationwide blackout. The power grid is down and the country relies on prime minister Annemie Hillebrand to handle this crisis. Moments before the blackout the prime minister received footage of her daughter who appears to be held captive, with a message: “If the lights turn back on, your daughter dies.” She can only let one person in on her secret... A man she can trust: Michael Dendoncker, head of the Counter Terrorism Unit.
Na de sabotage van een kerncentrale valt het hele land in een nationale electriciteitspanne. Net daarvoor ontvangt premier Annemie Hillebrand een filmpje. Daarop ziet ze haar ontvoerde dochter met volgende boodschap: “Als het licht aan gaat, sterft uw dochter.” Hillebrand geeft Michaël Dendoncker, Hoofd van de Dienst Anti-Terrorisme, opdracht om in het uiterste geheim haar dochter terug te vinden en te onderzoeken wie achter deze black-out zit. Terwijl Hillebrand verstrikt raakt in een politiek kluwen, tast Dendoncker in het duister.
