synopsis

Bye Mom! is a film about motherly love and saying goodbye. It is the story of a mother and a daughter who are forced to reinvent their relationship when their health no longer cooperates. Their relationship shifts and the roles of mother and daughter are reversed for the first time. How do they fit into these new roles and how can they prepare for the inevitable goodbye?
Een film over de onafscheidelijke band tussen de 102-jaar oude Rennie en haar dochter Yvette. Hun relatie wordt op de proef gesteld wanneer de gezondheid van Rennie achteruit begint te gaan. Yvette, die een mentale beperking heeft, probeert zo goed mogelijk voor haar mama te zorgen. Dag Ma! is een film over moederliefde en afscheid nemen. Het is het verhaal van een moeder en een dochter die hun relatie moeten heruitvinden wanneer de gezondheid niet meer mee wil. Hun (zorg)relatie verschuift en de rollen voor moeder en dochter draaien zich voor de eerste keer om. Hoe schikken ze zich beiden in deze nieuwe rol en kunnen ze zich voorbereiden op het onvermijdelijke afscheid?
