The follow-up series to Deadline 14/10 in which Marianne, a former journalist, is shocked by what initially appears to be a tragic incident. At the same time, Belgium is getting ready for the long-awaited elections.

synopsis

March 2014. Marianne Smidt has given up her job as journalist at the Flemish newspaper Gazet van Antwerpen and now works in a book-and-coffee shop, which gives her more time for herself and her 13-year-old son, Seppe. Her quiet life is disrupted when Seppe and his classmates fall victim to carbon monoxide poisoning at school. With the upcoming mother of all elections, and the chance of gaining a majority in the Flemish Parliament, this disaster is not a present for mayor Bert Coenen. Furthermore, there is great speculation as to the cause of the poisoning and, although all signs point in the direction of a human error, Marianne suspects a lot more is going on and decides to investigate...
Maart 2014. Marianne Smidt heeft haar job als journaliste opgegeven en werkt in een bookshop annex koffiebar, waardoor ze meer tijd heeft voor zichzelf en haar 13-jarige zoontje Seppe. Haar rustige leven wordt echter door elkaar geschud wanneer Seppe en zijn klasgenoten het slachtoffer worden van een CO-vergiftiging op school. Met de moeder aller verkiezingen in het vooruitzicht én de kans op een meerderheid in het Vlaams parlement is de CO-vergiftiging geen geschenk voor burgemeester Bert Coenen, die een vlekkeloos parcours moet afleggen, wil hij het halen van Willem Vermaelen, de huidige minister-president van Vlaanderen. Er wordt bovendien druk gespeculeerd over de oorzaak van de ramp. Alles wijst op een menselijke fout, maar Marianne vermoedt dat er meer aan de hand is. Ze pikt haar job bij de Gazet van Antwerpen terug op, want ze gelooft principieel dat de waarheid moet verteld worden. Altijd en overal.
