A TV series about Saint Nicholas and his helper Pete, who attempt to answer all the children's letters and questions while all kinds of crazy things happen in his castle.

synopsis

Every night, Saint Nicholas and Helper Pete collect children's letters and drawings. In these letters, children often ask questions like; why does the saint take a steamboat to travel to Belgium? How old is Saint Nicholas, and what is written in his big book? What is his favourite dish? What should you do to prepare for the night he comes to visit? While Saint Nicholas thinks very deeply about these questions, all kinds of strange and crazy things happen in his castle. We get to know his other friends as well: his housekeeper Conchita, her husband professor Cleverclogs, and her niece Palomita. More friends, like Ramon, the captains, Kneta Knieschijf and the Staff Keeper, also come and visit him once in a while. And his horse, Rainy Day, is standing in his kitchen, as usual.
Elke nacht halen Sinterklaas en Zwarte Piet brieven en tekeningen op van de kinderen. Vaak staan daar vragen in van kinderen die meer te weten willen komen over Sint en Piet. Waarom komt de heilige man met de stoomboot? Hoe oud is Sinterklaas, en wat staat er allemaal in zijn boek? Wat is het lievelingseten van de Sint? Hoe zet je je schoentje klaar? Terwijl de Sint diep nadenkt over deze kwesties, gebeuren er telkens vreemde, gekke dingen in het kasteel. En zo komen we veel te weten over die lieve, goede Sint en zijn beste vriend, Zwarte Piet. We leren ook zijn andere vrienden beter kennen, zoals zijn huishoudster Conchita, haar man Professor Van den Uytleg en haar nichtje Palomita. Ook Ramon, de kapiteins, Kneta Knieschijf en de Stafhouder brengen af en toe een bezoekje. En het paard van Sinterklaas, Slechtweervandaag, die staat naar goede gewoonte bij hem in de keuken.
