synopsis

George is left behind by his wife and daughter, who no longer want to live in a dried out sea. Even though he doesn't want to lose them, he doesn't find the strength to end his past as a fisherman. All alone, George keeps maintaining his old fishing boat, as he does every day. During his daily routine, he gets trapped in a sandstorm, which forces him to take refuge on his fishing boat. The storm not only confronts him with his lost past as a fisherman, but also with his recent loss, a life together with his beloved daughter. After the storm settles, he finds the strength to let go of his past.
George est abandonné par sa femme et sa fille, qui ne veulent plus vivre dans une mer asséchée. Même s'il ne veut pas les perdre, il ne trouve pas la force de mettre fin à son passé de pêcheur. Tout seul, George continue à entretenir son vieux bateau de pêche, comme il le fait tous les jours. Au cours de sa vie quotidienne, il est pris au piège d'une tempête de sable, ce qui l'oblige à se réfugier sur son bateau de pêche. La tempête le confronte non seulement à son passé de pêcheur, mais aussi à sa perte récente, une vie avec sa fille bien-aimée. Une fois la tempête passée, il redécouvre le sens de son existence.
George wordt achtergelaten door zijn vrouw en dochter, die niet meer in een uitgedroogde zee willen leven. Ook al wil hij ze niet verliezen, hij vindt niet de kracht om een einde te maken aan zijn verleden als visser. Helemaal alleen blijft George zijn oude vissersboot onderhouden, zoals hij elke dag doet. Tijdens zijn dagelijkse routine komt hij vast te zitten in een zandstorm. De storm confronteert hem niet alleen met zijn verloren verleden als visser, maar ook met zijn recente verlies, een leven samen met zijn geliefde dochter. Nadat de storm is gaan liggen, vindt hij de kracht om zijn verleden los te laten.
