After his help at a farm fire, Dreas is asked to join the village fire brigade. This arouses all sorts of personal ambitions. He's even allowed to take a course at the fireman school in Utrecht. But when he fails to extinguish a fire in the bakery in his village, everything goes wrong. He is sacked but soon finds a job as a salesman of a sprinkler system he invented.

synopsis

After his help at a farm fire, Dreas is asked to join the village fire brigade. This arouses all sorts of personal ambitions. He's even allowed to take a course at the fireman school in Utrecht. But when he fails to extinguish a fire in the bakery in his village, everything goes wrong. He is sacked but soon finds a job as a salesman of a sprinkler system he invented.
Après son intervention lors de l’incendie de la ferme, on propose à Dreas de rejoindre la brigade du feu du village. Cela éveille toutes sortes d’ambitions personnelles. On lui autorise même à suivre des cours dans l’école de pompier d’Utrecht. Mais lorsqu’il ne parvient pas à éteindre le feu dans la boulangerie de son village, les choses tournent mal. Il est licencié, mais retrouve vite du travail en tant que vendeur d’un système d’extincteur automatique qu’il a inventé.
