Marva (17) is a regular at singing contests, which she unfortunately always loses. Nevertheless, her father, Jean Vereecken, dreams of a beautiful career for his daughter. But one day, Jean gets laid off. By way of revenge, he decides to kidnap the number one singer in the country, Debbie.

synopsis

17-year-old Marva is a regular at singing contests, which she unfortunately always loses. Nevertheless, her father, Jean Vereecken, dreams of a beautiful career for his daughter. But one day, Jean gets laid off. By way of revenge, he decides to kidnap the number one singer in the country, Debbie. The kidnapping sends great waves of turmoil through the country and sales of Debbie's latest single soar sky-high, much to the pleasant surprise of Michael, Debbie's manager. During a secret meeting with Jean, Michael proposes a deal : he will make Marva a star if Jean agrees to keep Debbie out of the way for as long as Michael wants. Jean agrees. For a while, everything goes as planned, but then the public loses interest in the kidnapping. Debbie's record sales plummet. But Michael had known they would, and, unknown to Jean or Marva, he prepares for a bloodcurdling finale...
Marva, 17 ans, est une habituée des concours de chant auxquels elle échoue malheureusement à chaque fois. Jean Vereecken, son père, rêve cependant d’une carrière splendide pour sa fille. Mais un jour, Jean est licencié. Pour se venger, il décide de kidnapper Debbie, la chanteuse étoile du pays. Le kidnapping provoque un vague de tourmente dans tout le pays, et les ventes du dernier single de Debbie atteignent des records, ce qui plaît à Michael, son manager. Lors d’une rencontre secrète avec Jean, Michael lui propose un marché : Il fera de Marva une star si Jean accepte de garder Debbie hors de vue aussi longtemps que Michael le voudra. Jean accepte. Tout se passe comme prévu pendant un moment, jusqu’à ce que le public finisse par détourner son attention du kidnapping . Les ventes record de Debbie s’effondrent. Mais Michael savait qu’il en serait ainsi et, à l’insu de Jean et de Marva, il se prépare pour une finale terrifiante…
