This feature-length documentary goes back to the birth of Flemish horror in the 70s and shines a light on the future of horror in Belgian cinema. The viewer gets a chance to discover long forgottand even unfinished - genre gems and explore in-depth info about underrated 'splatter and gore' fests, post-apocalyptic movies, slasher-films, Nazisploitation, women-in-prison and other fantastical Flemish genre benders through the eyes of the directors, producers and principal actors. Forgotten Scares is illustrated by rare behind-the-scenes footage, classic film scenes, production stills and even never-before-seen videos from the vaults of the filmmakers.
Deze documentaire brengt ons terug naar de geboorte van de Vlaamse horror in de jaren 70 and werpt een blik op de toekomst van horror in België. De kijkers krijgen vergeten, soms zelfs onafgewerkte genreparels te zien en meer informatie over de ondergewaardeerde splatter and gore-fests, post-apocalyptische films, pure slasher films, nazisploitation, vrouwen-in-gevangenis en andere fantatische kruisbestuivingen door de ogen van regisseurs, producers en acteurs.
