synopsis

Hinterhof reveals the radically voyeuristic gaze of a girl who is fascinated by the outside world that develops in front of her eyes, to the extent that it becomes impossible for her to look away. She not only sees the world but she also shapes it from a safe distance. This is cinema back to the basics: only one actress who continually reworks herself into other characters.
Hinterhof montre le regard voyeur d’une fille qui est fascinée par le monde extérieur qui se développe sous ses yeux, à un tel point qu’il lui est impossible de détourner son regard. Dans cette observation compulsive, elle ne voit pas seulement le monde : elle crée le monde qu’ elle analyse à distance. Dans Hinterhof, le cinéma revient sur ses bases. Pas de grands décors ni d’effets spéciaux hors de prix, pas de casting étendu. Seule une actrice qui se rebaptise dans d’autres personnages.
Ariane Loze s’expérimente aux principes de base du montage : le champ et le contrechamp, l’impression de continuité du mouvement et la suggestion psychologique du récit.
