Roger Declerq is a smooth crook who is not quite clever enough for the big time. His brother Bruno, an honest customs officer has a happy yet childless marriage. The two brothers only have contact through their mother, who calls Bruno when her black sheep Roger has again tried to get an advance on his inheritance.

synopsis

Roger Declerq is a smooth crook who is not quite clever enough for the big time. He's married to ex-barmaid Doriane and they have a son aged four: Erik. Roger's brother Bruno, an honest customs officer has a happy yet childless marriage with a nurse, Simone. The two brothers hate each other. They only have contact through their mother, who calls Bruno when her black sheep Roger has again tried to get an advance on his inheritance. When Roger's nose is rubbed in the mud by a couple of heavies, he gets worried. His smooth talk can't save him this time : he needs money. Fate seems to smile on him when mother Declerq dies suddenly, but he is devastated to find out that there is just enough money to pay for the funeral. Roger has to fly his persuers and convinces Bruno to use the funeral money to go on holiday together 'to find each other'.
Roger Declerq est un paisible truand qui n’est pas suffisamment intelligent pour jouer le grand jeu. Il est marié avec Doriane, une ancienne serveuse, et ont un fils âgé de 4 ans nommé Eric. Bruno, le frère de Roger, est un agent de douane honnête ayant un mariage heureux bien que sans enfant avec Simone, une infirmière. Les deux frères se détestent. Ils ont uniquement des contacts grâce à leur mère qui appelle Bruno lorsque Roger, son mouton noir, a à nouveau essayé d’obtenir son héritage à l’avance. Lorsque le nez de Roger est traîné dans la boue par un couple de grosses brutes, il commence à s’inquiéter. Ses belles paroles ne le sauveront pas cette fois : il a besoin d’argent. Le destin semble lui sourire lorsque la mère Declerq meurt subitement, mais il est abattu d’apprendre qu’il y a juste assez d’argent pour payer les funérailles. Roger doit fuir ses poursuivants et convaincre Bruno d’utiliser l’argent des funérailles pour partir en voyage ensemble « afin de se retrouver ».
