Nine-year-old Bo moves to the countryside with her mother Iris and her half-sister Rani. Slightly bored in the new environment of fields and farms, the sisters look forward to the weekend when their fathers come to pick them up. Bo's father, however, doesn't show up time after time again. While Rani spends the weekends at her dad's, Bo often stays home alone. In the isolated landscape, she has to rely on herself and becomes more independent.
De negenjarige Bo verhuist samen met haar moeder en haar halfzus Rani naar het platteland. Op het eerste zicht valt er weinig te beleven in de nieuwe omgeving en de zusjes kijken reikhalzend uit naar het weekend, wanneer hun vaders hun komen ophalen. Bo’s vader laat het echter keer op keer afweten. Terwijl Rani de weekends bij haar vader doorbrengt, blijft Bo achter in het lege thuis. In het landschap van uitgestrekte velden is Bo op zichzelf aangewezen en wordt ze onafhankelijker.
