One day Peter, Fred's old friend, returns to the village, after his marriage to a town-girl fails. Isabelle has always been in love with Peter, she tries everything to win his heart, but he refuses all advances.

synopsis

In Silence centres on Fred, a 28-year-old shy bachelor woodcutter, who lives in a small village in the Ardennes. He secretly loves Isabelle, the notary's daughter, but his love is doomed, because of the too many differences between them two. One day Peter, Fred's old friend, returns to the village, after his marriage to a town-girl fails. Isabelle has always been in love with Peter, she tries everything to win his heart, but he refuses all advances. During a heated discussion, Isabelle loses control of the car and crashes against a tree. Peter jumps out of the car, just in time. With Peter's help, Fred frees himself of his love for Isabelle, which had become a real obsession, and faces his life without her.
Le film se concentre sur Fred, un bûcheron timide et célibataire de 28 ans, qui vit dans un petit village dans les Ardennes. Il aime secrètement Isabelle, la fille du notaire, mais son amour est voué à l'échec, à cause des différences qui les séparent. Un jour, Peter, un vieil ami de Fred, retourne au village, après que son mariage avec une fille de la ville n'ait échoué. Isabelle a toujours été amoureuse de Peter. Elle met tout en ≈ìuvre pour être l'élue de son c≈ìur, mais il rejette toutes ses avances. Au cours d'une discussion houleuse, Isabelle perd le contrôle de la voiture et s'écrase contre un arbre. Peter saute hors de la voiture, juste à temps. Avec l'aide de Peter, Fred se libère de son amour pour Isabelle, qui était devenu une obsession, et affronte la vie sans elle.
