A personal portrait of Giorgi Shakhsuvarian, an Armenian immigrant from Georgia and coach of the promising young boxer Jean-Pierre Bauwens, which explores the immigrant's special experience of the lived present and the living between two times and places.

synopsis

A poetic portrait of Giorgi Shakhsuvarian, an Armenian boxing coach from Tbilisi. Living and working in Belgium, he prepares a young boxer to become a European champion. Made out of a profound love for the man portrayed, the film weaves together the feeling of distance, a floating experience of time and space, and the choreography of boxing.
Een poëtisch portret van Giorgi Shakhsuvarian, een Armeense bokscoach uit Tbilisi. Al enige tijd gevestigd en werkzaam in België, bereidt hij een jonge bokser voor om Europees kampioen te worden. Gemaakt vanuit een sterke liefde voor de geportretteerde man verweeft de film het gevoel van afstand, een vlottende ervaring van tijd en ruimte en de choreografie van het boksen.
