Separated from her brothers as a child, the now cancer-ridden Mira desperately needs to re-establish the family she has lost.

Mira is a young single mother, always positive and brimming with energy. She has a good job as a home nurse, close friends and a good relationship with her youngest brother. But when she receives devastating personal news, Mira decides to reconnect with her eldest brother, and attempt to reunite a family that never really existed. And so this colourful, not-quite-ordinary group of people heads to the Ardennes for a weekend. But building and strengthening the family ties will be a challenge. J'aime la vie is a film about bonding and letting go, and about love... a lot of love.
Mira is een jonge alleenstaande moeder, altijd positief en boordevol energie. Ze heeft een fijne job als thuisverpleegster, hechte vrienden en een goede relatie met haar jongste broer. Maar dan krijgt ze nieuws dat inslaat als een bom. Mira besluit om het contact met haar oudste broer te herstellen in een poging het gezin dat er nooit echt één was te herenigen. En zo trekt deze niet-alledaagse, en op zijn zachtst gezegd kleurrijke familie voor een weekend naar de Ardennen. Mira wacht een uitdaging om de familiebanden aan te halen. J’aime la vie is een film over hechten en loslaten, en over liefde … heel veel liefde.
