An old debt of honour catches up with Lorik, an Albanian gangster living in Brussels.

synopsis

Thirty-something Lorik works as an enforcer for the Albanian mafia in Brussels. One day, a man from his home village appears in the city, demanding that a death caused by his uncle be paid for in blood, according to the Kanun code of honour. Lorik must face the demands of the past and protect his present love for Sema, an art student from Brussels’ Turkish community.

In Brussel werkt Lorik, die amper 30 jaar oud is, als handlanger van de Albanese maffia samen met zijn mentor Aleks. Wanneer hij verliefd wordt op Sema, een studente aan de kunstacademie met Turkse roots, dreigt Lorik te worden ingehaald door zijn verleden. Een man uit zijn Albanese dorp, wiens vader door de oom van Lorik is vermoord, heeft Lorik opgespoord. Hij beweert, volgens de regels van de Kanun, dat de schuld aan zijn familie met bloed moet worden betaald. Lorik moet dood.
