synopsis

Danilo, an introverted 10-year-old boy, is on the verge of moving out of Cuba with his young mother. When he gets a green apple, a rare fruit type in the country, the boy grabs what might be his last chance to impress his classmates. La Manzana (The Apple), is an intimate look into the world of a pre-teen and his hopeless attempt to say farewell to everything and everyone he's ever known. His departure will not go unnoticed.
Danilo, 10 jaar, is een introverte jongeman die op het punt staat om met zijn moeder Cuba te verlaten. Wanneer hij een appel krijgt, een eerder exotisch vrucht op het eiland, grijpt de jongen zijn kans om een laatste indruk na te laten bij zijn klasgenoten. La Manzana (De appel) is een intieme kijk in de wereld van een jongeman en zijn hopeloze poging om afscheid te nemen van alles en iedereen om hem heen. Zijn vertrek mag niet onopgemerkt voorbij gaan. Hij wil en zal gemist worden!
