synopsis

Léon Vandromme, 83 years old, is a resident of a nursing home in the Marolles neighbourhood in Brussels. Léon offers us a glimpse into his life, his loneliness, and his past and present loves. He was a mischievous man, and an alcoholic, but above all a kind-hearted person. Past and present merge, and memories come alive again. What will be, will be.
Léon Vandromme, âgé de 83 ans, est un résident d'une maison de repos située dans le quartier Marolles à Bruxelles. Léon nous offre un aperçu de sa vie, de sa solitude et de ses amours passées et présentes. Il était un coquin et un ivrogne, mais surtout une personne magnifique. Le passé et le présent se confondent. Les souvenirs reprennent vie. Que sera, sera.
Léon Vandromme, 83 jaar, is inwoner van een woonzorgcentrum in de Marollen in Brussel. Léon geeft ons een inkijk in zijn leven, in de eenzaamheid en in zijn liefdes van vroeger en nu. Hij was een deugniet en een dronkaard, maar vooral een schoon mens. Verleden en heden versmelten. Herinneringen worden weer levend. Wat zijn moet, dat zal zo zijn.
