synopsis

When Isabelle flees the orphanage, she is taken in by two romantic adventurers. But not everyone sees it quite the same way. They are snubbed at the engagement party of Louise, the daughter of a rich industrial. Louise, who is to be married off against her will, revolts against her narrow-minded family and friends. During the night she flees from the castle with the two men and Isabelle. When World War I breaks out, they decide to go back to the castle, but her father is still disgusted by his daughter's new way of life. So once more they have to flee, just to tumble in the horror of the war.
Lorsqu'Isabelle s'enfuit de l'orphelinat, elle est recueillie par deux aventuriers romantiques. Mais tout le monde ne le voit pas de cet ≈ìil-là. Ils sont repoussés lors de la fête de fiançailles de Louise, la fille d'un riche industriel. Louise, qui va être mariée contre son choix, se révolte contre l'esprit fermé de sa famille et de ses amis. Pendant la nuit, elle s'échappe du château avec les deux hommes et Isabelle. Lorsque la Première Guerre mondiale éclate, ils décident de retourner au château, mais le père est toujours révolté par le nouveau style de vie de sa fille. Ils doivent fuir une seconde fois et tombent dans les horreurs de la guerre.
