Un ouvrier travaille dans les sous-sols abandonnés et froids d’une brasserie. Il consacre son temps libre à collectionner des images romantiques de fleurs sauvages et à recoller dans un album des coupures de journaux, montrant une préférence pour les histoires les plus effroyables. Meurtres, viols et actes de violence sont des évènements qui accompagnent son existence quotidienne et investissent celle-ci avec une touche de couleur.
