David Verhaeghe seeks to uncover the truth behind the big family secret: was his Italian grandmother the lovechild of legendary Ethiopian emperor Haile Selassie, born Ras Tafari Makkonen and still religiously admired today?My Ras Tafari Roots is the fascinating and intensive quest of a young European who searches for his African roots via forgotten family members in Italy and Cyprus. In the end, it is the natural mysticism of the Jamaican Rastas that seems to point David towards the imperial family. Will he succeed in discovering the truth about his ancestry?

My Ras Tafari Roots est une quête fascinante et intensive d’un jeune Européen qui, par le biais de membres de famille oubliés en Italie et à Chypre, part à la recherche de ses racines africaines. C’est en fin de compte la mystique naturelle des rastas jamaïcains qui semble mettre le plus efficacement David sur la trace de la famille impériale elle-même. Uiteindelijk lijkt de natuurlijke mystiek van de Jamaicaanse rasta’s David nog het meest op het spoor te zetten van de keizerlijke familie zelf.
