Self-portraits. A friend is eating. A ferris wheel. A scratched record. You are still breathing. Often. Collisions. Cars. Fuck you. Work. A bath. A wheel. Shoes. Lines. Insects. No hound, just a house. Steffie Van Cauter drew an animation film for each day. She collected a wide range of images and material, from which she has distilled several different film projects. Geen hond, wel een hok is a conclusion. She searched for a way to rouse her spirit of inquiry once again - a chance to get rid of too many possibilities, and at the same time to cherish and re-animate that to which the maker herself had somehow become blind.
Autoportraits. Un ami en train de manger. La roue géante. Un disque rayé. Vous respirez encore. Beaucoup. Collisions. Voitures. Fuck You. Boulot. Un bain. Une roue. Des chaussures. Des lignes. Des insectes. Pas de chien, bien une niche. Steffie Van Cauter a dessiné chaque jour un fragment de film. Elle a réuni un grand nombre de matériaux divers, d’où elle a distillé plusieurs films. Geen hond, wel een hok est un aboutissement. Elle a cherché une manière d’être à nouveau intriguée. Mettre fin à la profusion des possibilités qui est en même temps une façon de choyer et de réanimer ce qui était devenu invisible à l’artiste.
Zelfportretten. Een etende vriend. Het reuzenrad. Een krakende plaat. U ademt nog. Veel. Botsingen. Auto's. Fuck You. Werk. Een bad. Een wiel. Schoenen. Lijnen. Insecten. Geen hond, wel een hok. Steffie Van Cauter tekende voor elke dag een filmfragment. Ze verzamelde veel uiteenlopend materiaal waaruit ze verschillende filmische werken destilleerde. Geen hond, wel een hok is een eindpunt. Ze zocht naar een manier om opnieuw geïntrigeerd te zijn. Een komaf met de overvloed aan mogelijkheden en tevens een koesteren en reanimeren van wat voor de maker zelf onzichtbaar geworden was.
