Persona Non Grata is the epic story of the life of Frans Wuytack. After 30 years of exile, he returns to South America with his son, film director Fabio Wuytack. Their journey encompasses the Venezuelan slums where Frans unchained a social and cultural revolution as a young priest in the 1960s. A mix of humorous and touching people take Fabio on a voyage through the maze of his father's exciting past. The poetic film style lifts the story beyond the borders of a biopic and confronts us with some of the most important moments in the second half of the 20th century.
Persona non grata est le récit épique de la vie de Frans Wuytack. Après trente années d’exil, il retourne en Afrique du Sud avec son fils, le réalisateur Fabio Wuytack. Leur voyage accablant révèle les bidonvilles vénézuéliens, où Frans se livra à une révolution sociale et culturelle dans les années 60 lorsqu’il était un jeune prêtre. Un certain nombre de personnages humoristiques et touchants des bidonvilles entraîne Fabio dans un voyage à travers le labyrinthe du passé excitant de son père. Le style poétique du film entraîne l’histoire au-delà des frontières d’un film biographique et nous confronte à quelques-uns des moments les plus importants des la seconde moitié du 20^ème siècle.
