Young dancer Irma watches the battle between ambition and self-destruction when her best friend Olga becomes the star performer of the Royal Ballet in Amsterdam.
synopsis
- Irma and Olga are young dancers, trying to make their way in the demanding world of ballet in 1970s Amsterdam. When Olga is launched as the new star of the Royal Ballet, she soon discovers the dark side of her talent. Irma watches from the wings as her best friend battles the pressure to perform, and gradually loses herself in the city’s nightlife. Piece of my Heart tells the story of an exceptional talent, and the ultimate friendship.
