Paul and his wife Maria own a pig farm. When Maria's sister Helena moves in with them, Paul falls in love with her. Helena decides to tell her sister and moves out of the farm. Paul and Maria's love is strengthened again when they have to face the end of their business because of swine fever. But when Helena moves back to the farm she and Paul give in to temptation.

synopsis

Paul and his wife Maria own a pig farm. When Maria's sister Helena moves in with them, Paul falls in love with her. Helena decides to tell her sister and moves out of the farm. Paul and Maria's love is strengthened again when they have to face the end of their business because of swine fever. But when Helena moves back to the farm she and Paul give in to temptation. Maria is then diagnosed with lung cancer and after a long struggle she dies, making Paul realize that even with Helena by his side he will be a lonely man.
Paul et sa femme Maria possèdent un élevage de porcs. Lorsqu’Helena, la sœur de Maria, emménage avec eux, Paul tombe amoureux d’elle. Helena décide de le dire à sa sœur et quitte la ferme. L’amour entre Maria et Paul est à nouveau renforcé lorsqu’ils doivent faire face à la fin de leurs affaires à cause de la fièvre porcine. Mais alors qu’Helena revient à la ferme, elle et Paul succombent à la tentation. Peu après, Maria développe un cancer au poumon et meurt après un long combat. Paul se rend alors compte que même avec Helena à ses côtés, il sera un homme seul.
