The film follows five Potosí miners, aged 21 to 54, through the ghosts and legends that haunt them, revealing the fragility of man and his surroundings.

synopsis

Reveka follows five Potosí miners, aged from 21 to 54, as they burrow through hellish mines, abandoning the majestic landscape of the Bolivian Andes for their dark confinement. We observe the physical details and tools that make mining work tangible. The miners’ identities fade as they enter this obscure world full of history and ghosts and embark on a sensory journey through fears, dreams and indigenous superstitions.
En suivant cinq mineurs de Potosí âgés de 21 à 54 ans dans leur rapport aux fantômes et aux légendes, Reveka parle de la fragilité de l'homme et de ce qui l'entoure. En s'enfonçant dans les mines du diable, ces hommes abandonnent quotidiennement le décor majestueux des Andes boliviennes pour le confinement et l'obscurité de la mine. Leur identité s'efface lorsqu'ils rejoignent ce lieu chargé d'histoire et de fantômes. En s'attardant sur les détails corporels et matériels qui rendent palpable le travail minier, nous partons à la recherche d'un temps révolu qui trouve sa trace dans la répétition du geste physique du mineur. Épidermique et sensoriel, le film voyage à travers les peurs, les rêves, les légendes et les superstitions indigènes pour les confronter à la réalité du quotidien.
Andesgebergte, Bolivië. Reveka volgt vijf mijnwerkers tussen 21 en 54 jaar oud, en hun spirituele beleving van de legendes van de duivelsmijn. Een film over de fragiliteit van de mens in haar harde en ruwe omgeving. Elke dag verlaten deze mannen het mooie Andes-landschap en dalen ze af naar de duisternis van de mijn. Daar moeten ze zich onderwerpen aan de magie van de mijn, haar geesten en geschiedenis. Via hun angsten, dromen, legendes, tradities en bijgeloof wil de film hun dagdagelijkse realiteit ontrafelen.
