Youngsters from a troubled neighbourhood in Brussels break free from their pasts on a trek through the wild Spanish Pyrenees.

A group of young adults from Peterbos, an often stigmatised social housing district in Brussels, exchange their everyday lives for the wild, unpredictable nature of the Spanish Pyrenees. During a week-long trip, the unexperienced hikers venture into the mountains to brave snow and storms. At night, they are able to confront their deepest fears and concerns for the first time. The extreme conditions force them to look inwards and to reflect upon their lives back home. Rupture gives an insight into the often harsh reality that young adults with an immigrant background face in their journey towards adulthood.
Un groupe de jeunes adultes du Peterbos, un quartier de logements sociaux bruxellois souvent stigmatisé, troque son environnement quotidien pour la nature sauvage et imprévisible des Pyrénées espagnoles. Ce voyage les pousse à l'introspection et à réfléchir à leur vie chez eux.
