Through the intertwined stories of two mothers and their daughters, Saying Not Said enters the rich tapestry of their experiences, from their early years in the Philippines to their lives in Europe. Director Christina Stuhlberger, herself part of this narrative, investigates the profound, often unspoken ways in which we communicate, emphasising the physical and emotional resonance of voice beyond mere words.
Saying Not Said débute par un instant tendre: une mère et sa fille se tenant la main alors que la réalisatrice ajuste les détails techniques en arrière-plan flou. Cette démonstration subtile de connexion pose le ton du film par Christina Stuhlberger du passage intergénérationnel de la langue et des souvenirs. À travers les récits entrelacés de deux paires mère-fille, il presente la richesse de leurs expériences, des premières années aux Philippines à leur vie en Europe.
