Mona is left alone in an empty house after her lover departed for the war front. For months she gets no news from him. The days are long; the walls still hold the memory of their ephemeral love. Mona waits, hopes and wanders around lonely in the deserted house, a shadow of who she once was.
Mona blijft alleen achter in een groot en leeg huis, nadat haar geliefde naar het oorlogsfront vertrok. Maandenlang krijgt ze geen nieuws van hem. De dagen duren lang. De oude muren houden de herinnering aan een warme liefde nog eventjes vast. Mona wacht, hoopt en waadt eenzaam rond in het verlaten huis, als een schaduw van wie ze ooit was.
