synopsis

Basaar was a dog. Now he is dead. He was shot in the backstreets of Ulan Bator. Basaar loved and trusted man. Now that trust is gone. In Mongolia, people know that when a dog dies he will be reborn as a man. But Basaar is reluctant to return as a man. In order to accept his fate, Basaar sets out on a journey through his memory. He remembers his life as a sheep dog in the Mongolian countryside. He remembers the pain and sorrow when he was abandoned by his master. And he remembers the struggle to survive as a stray in the city. When Basaar is coming to terms with his destiny the mythical dragon Rah is about to swallow the sun to create total chaos and destruction. Now, Basaar's rebirth depends on man's power to scare away Rah... State of Dogs tells the story of a Mongolian dog who didn't want to be a man.
Basaar était un chien. Aujourd’hui, il est mort. On lui a tiré dessus dans les ruelles d’ Ulan Bator. Basaar aimait et faisait confiance aux hommes. Aujourd’hui cette confiance est anéantie. En Mongolie, on sait que lorsqu’un chien meurt, il se réincarne en homme. Mais Basaar est réticent à l’idée de redevenir un homme. Afin d’accepter son destin, Basaar entame un voyage à travers sa mémoire. Il se souvient de sa vie en tant que chien de berger dans la campagne mongole. Il se souvient de sa peine et sa douleur lorsqu’il fut abandonné par son maître. Et il se souvient du combat pour survivre en tant que chien errant dans la ville. Alors que Basaar arrive au terme de sa destinée, Rah, le dragon mythique est sur le point d’avaler le soleil pour créer un chaos et une destruction générale. Désormais, la réincarnation de Basaar dépend du pouvoir de l’homme d’effrayer Rah… State of Dogs raconte l’histoire d’un chien mongol qui ne voulait pas être un homme.
