Lei, 30, is in Marseille to interview Qiu, a woman her age. Despite worries back home in Lyon, she tries to concentrate on her assignment. The two Chinese women spend several days together in Qiu's 19th-floor apartment overlooking the city, reflecting on their trajectories, shedding light on what holds them back in life, and ultimately affecting Lei's understanding of her own circumstances.
