synopsis

Surplace comprises four black and white documentaries about specific streets and hills in Flanders. Each year at the same locations, a peloton passes the houses of the long-term residents. The films not only focus on these people but also on the evolving landscapes and on the craziness of this one-day-in-the-year-only cycling madness.
Une mise au point sur l'absurdité de cette unique journéé dans l'année ou un peloton passe devant les maisons de certains flandriens. Une série en noir et blanc qui se concentre surtout sur une Flandre en train de dispaître, toujours avec la course comme alibi.
Een vierdelige, zwart-wit documentaire reeks over vier verschillende koerslocaties in Vlaanderen. Het zijn unieke sfeerverslagen over het leven langs specifieke straten of hellingen die ieder jaar opnieuw de koers kleuren.
