A group of sleepers seek to revive language in a world that has fallen mute.

synopsis

In a mute city where screens blaze, a community of dissenters commit to a strange slumber. Weary of struggling, a protagonist decides to heed their call. Through encounters on this other side of reality, he gathers antidotes to helplessness that may revive language. When he wakes up, nothing has changed but everything is different: he’s no longer alone. Both mystical tale and counter-utopia, Swarm claims imagination as a means to amend reality.
Dans une ville muette où les écrans s’embrasent, une communauté de déserteur·ses se voue à un étrange sommeil. Las de lutter, un protagoniste se résout à les rejoindre. Depuis cet autre pan de réalité, il récolte des antidotes à l’impuissance au fil de rencontres qui ressuscitent le langage. À son réveil, rien n’a changé mais tout est différent : il n’est plus seul, désormais. Une ode aux collisions magiques et à l’imaginaire comme moyen de transformer le réel.
In een spraakloze stad waar schermen in lichterlaaie staan, leggen dwarsdenkers zich toe op een vreemde slaap. Een protagonist wil niet meer vechten en besluit zich bij hen aan te sluiten. Aan deze keerzijde van de werkelijkheid zoekt hij een tegengif voor zijn onmacht met ontmoetingen die de mogelijkheid van taal doen heropleven. Hij wordt wakker en niets is veranderd maar alles is anders: hij is niet langer alleen. Swarm is een ode aan de kracht van verbeelding om de werkelijkheid te transformeren.
