A gripping documentary that examines the effects of mass shootings in American schools and day care centres.

While enrolling her daughter in a day care programme in Austin, Texas, Belgian filmmaker and first-time mother Louise stumbles upon the concept of active shooter drills. Originally worried about school shootings, she begins to wonder about the measures taken to keep the kids safe at school. Are pupils really protected by teaching them how to run, hide, or fight? Or by arming their teachers? The documentary reveals a troubled Texas, deeply affected by the tragedy at Uvalde, with one common denominator in all the people it portrays: fear of the bad guy.
Een aangrijpende documentaire film die de gevolgen van 'mass shootings' in Amerikaanse scholen en kinderopvangen onderzoekt. Louise Van Assche, een Belgische moeder die al enkele jaren in Amerika woont, gaat in de film op zoek naar een veilige kinderopvang voor haar dochter. In haar zoektocht stoot ze op de drills waar kinderen leren overleven via de 'run, hide, fight'-methode. Leerlingen verstoppen zich, leerkrachten barricaderen deuren, directeurs bewapenen zich. De angstcultuur doet iedereen naar wapens grijpen en doet een oorlog ontstaan tegen ‘The Bad Guy’, met de kinderen als onbedoelde slachtoffers.
