The Chair To My Left (12 titles) comprises a selection of the artist's previous work, revised specially for this DVD. The Chair To My Right (43 titles) contains an extensive series of new shorts. The third component, The Waiting Room (1 title), operates as a binding element.

synopsis

The Chair I Sit Upon consists of three parts, constituting a mosaic of 56 audiovisual stories. The Chair To My Left (12 titles) comprises a selection of the artist's previous work, revised specially for this DVD. The Chair To My Right (43 titles) contains an extensive series of new shorts. The third component, The Waiting Room (1 title), operates as a binding element. The spectator can linger on all titles indefinitely. Jan Vromman has found an accomplice in the medium of DVD as it enables him to shape his unique way of storytelling. The multitude of ideas, distinctive shapes and nuances he makes use of tie in with the specific structure. It investigates how tiny stories can be great, willful and independent, yet simultaneously find their meaning in the sum of their parts. Unity arises out of multitude.
