synopsis

La force diagonale weaves subtle connections between personal narratives, highlighting the impact of external conflicts on individual lives. It then turns to a key focus in the work of political philosopher Hannah Arendt: the human capacity to begin, to introduce something new into the world we share. The film seeks to render tangible this human dimension, always threatened and yet ever irrepressible.
Quatre portraits de femmes et d’hommes, en résonance avec des écrits d’Hannah Arendt : contre les violences d’hier et d’aujourd’hui, la pensée s’affirme comme force de création et de résistance.
In La force diagonale reflecteren verschillende mensen over een cruciaal keerpunt in hun leven en de mogelijkheid tot transformatie door die gebeurtenis. De persoonlijke verhalen weven een subtiel verband die de impact van externe conflicten op individuele levens bloot legt. Zo resoneren hun verhalen met een belangrijk aandachtspunt in het werk van politiek filosofe Hannah Arendt; het menselijke vermogen om te beginnen, om iets nieuws te introduceren in de wereld die we delen. La force diagonale probeert deze menselijke dimensie, die onder permanente druk staat maar tevens onstuitbaar blijkt, tastbaar te maken.
