synopsis

Bob and Greta De Jaegher have been happily married for 40 years and can look back on a rich and fulfilled life. Their two sons Steve and Carl have successful lives as well: Steve is a talented and recognised film director and Carl is a promising chef. Steve's wife Billie wrote a bestseller about happiness and wants to start a family with her husband. Meanwhile, brother-in-law Rik who works at the zoo, tries to carry on life with his kids after his wife died two years ago. To mark their 40th wedding anniversary, Bob and Greta organise a family weekend to make an important announcement. But what should have been a cheerful family gathering turns into something no one expected...
Bob en Greta De Jaegher zijn veertig jaar gelukkig getrouwd en kunnen terugkijken op een rijk gevuld leven. Hun twee zonen Steve en Carl boeren goed, de ene als succevol regisseur, de andere als beloftevolle kok. Steve’s vrouw Billie schreef net een bestseller over gelukkig zijn en wil samen met haar man aan kinderen beginnen. Ook schoonzoon Rik, dierenverzorger in de dierentuin, probeert samen met zijn twee kindjes de draad weer op te pikken na het overlijden van zijn vrouw. Ter gelegenheid van de huwelijksverjaardag vertrekt de voltallige familie op weekend. Voor Bob en Greta is dit het ideale moment om hun nieuwe plannen aan te kondigen….deze slaan in als een bom. En dat is niet het enige… wat een gezellige familiebijeenkomst moest worden, draait helemaal anders uit.
