When ice cream manufacturer Phil Frisco discovers his life's work is being taken over by his wife and his eldest son, he decides to stage his own kidnapping to start a new life with the ransom. The Kidnapping of Phil Frisco is a bittersweet satire about what life has in store for everyone who only pursues their own happiness.
Wat doe je als je hele leven plots een leugen blijkt te zijn? Als de mensen die het dichtst bij je staan je verraden? Het overkomt Phil Druyts, een hardwerkende self-made man, die de roomijswinkel van zijn schoonvader uitbouwde tot een uit de kluiten gewassen fabriek. Wanneer zijn vrouw en oudste zoon het bedrijf, achter de rug van Phil, verkopen, stort zijn wereld in. Phil voelt zich zo verraden, zo misbruikt, dat hij een onverwachte en stoutmoedige zet maakt die zijn leven en zijn gezin op hun kop zetten en bovendien heel België beroert...
