synopsis

What is poverty? Is it merely a question of a lack of money or is there more to it? In The Missing Link, Fabio Wuytack explores the workings of poverty on the margins of the welfare state and the subsequent social exclusion. In a society that seems to be ripped apart by the continually widening gap between the poor and the wealthy, the film unites stories from both worlds.
Qu’est-ce que la pauvreté ? La pauvreté est-elle un manque d’argent ou est-elle plus que ça ? Dans The Missing Link, Fabio Wuytack essaie d’entrevoir dans la pauvreté, en marge de l’Etat providence. Une discussion poignante et intéressante avec des personnes qui ont elles-mêmes connu la pauvreté, et les aspects psychologiques qui y sont liés. Leurs récits de vie émouvants nous confrontent aux conséquences de l’exclusion sociale. Dans une société fragmentée dans laquelle le fossé entre pauvres et riches ne cesse de s’élargir, The Missing Link unit des histoires authentiques, révélatrices et sincères entre les deux mondes.
