A road trip through populist Europe. All seven episodes feature a parallel montage of three stories from different EU countries covering the same theme, alternated with archive materials. Old fragments of the European dream of peace and prosperity are combined with more recent reports on the situation in Europe.
Populisme is alomtegenwoordig in de EU. Populistische partijen scoren, traditionele partijen krijgen klappen. Waarom zijn zoveel burgers boos? De onfatsoenlijken zoekt het antwoord in de levensverhalen van de mensen die zich afkeren van de traditionele politiek. In elke aflevering zie je een parallelmontage van drie ‘onfatsoenlijke’ verhalen uit verschillende EU-landen, afgewisseld met archiefmateriaal. Oude fragmenten van de Europese droom van vrede en voorspoed worden gecombineerd met recente berichtgeving over de toestand in Europa. Een zevendelige documentairereeks die de kijker aanzet tot zelfstandig denken in een debat dat almaar vaker wordt vergiftigd door nepnieuws.
