Obsessed with becoming the fastest and strongest athlete on the face of the earth, top sportsman Marc Herremans' career took a dramatic turn on January 28, 2002, when he was injured in a bike crash and left paralysed from the chest down. Two months later, he resumed his training with the goal of attending the Iron Man in Hawaii, this time as a wheelchair athlete. We follow the impressive route Marc has taken between his accident and his arrival at the Iron Man in October 2006. In his search for luck, love and the dream to walk again some day, one thing remains paramount in his life: never give up...
Obsédé par l’envie de devenir l’athlète le plus rapide et le plus fort sur telle, la carrière incroyable du sportif de haut niveau Marc Herremans pris un tournant tragique. Le 28 janvier 2002, suite à une chute de vélo, il devient paralysé de sa poitrine jusqu’en dessous. Deux mois plus tard, Marc reprend déjà les entraînements. Dans les six mois, il veut être de retour sur le départ de l’Iron Man à Hawaï, cette fois en tant qu’athlète en chaise roulante. Il croit également qu’il sera un jour capable de remarcher. Nous suivons le chemin impressionnant que Marc a suivi entre son accident en janvier 2002 et son arrivée à l’Iron Man d’Hawaï en octobre 2006. Entre ses entraînements, Marc est très impliqué dans la cause des autres personnes souffrantes et il a crée un fonds pour la recherche sur la transplantation de moelle osseuse. Sa rencontre avec l’acteur Christopher Reeve l’a fortement impressionné et celle-ci renforça son idée qu’il sera capable de remarcher dans le futur. A la recherche de chance, d’amour, du rêve de remarcher un jour, une seule chose demeure importante : ne jamais abandonner...
