synopsis

Waiting is an intimate glimpse into the life of three people in eastern Turkey: of Siddik, a 42-year-old father, desperately searching for his children under the debris of their collapsed house after the earthquake in 2011; and two slum children, Eso and Atilla, who scavenge for iron in the ruins: treasures that will help them survive.
Waiting (Beklemek) jette un regard approfondi sur la vie de trois personnes en Turquie orientale. Le documentaire suit la vie de Siddik, un père de 42 ans, cherchant désespérément après ses enfants dans les débris de leur maison qui s’est effondrée lors du tremblement de terre qui a eu lieu à l’est de la Turquie en 2011. Pendant ce temps, Eso et Atilla (13), deux enfants des quartiers pauvres cherchent du fer dans les ruines, un trésor qui leur offre la possibilité de gagner de l’argent et de survivre.
Le film jette un regard approfondi sur le combat intérieur de Siddik, qui essaie de survivre après les conséquences du tremblement de terre, mais c’est avant tout un voyage socio-économique sur la vie difficile en Turquie orientale.
Een intieme blik op het leven van drie mensen in het oosten van Turkije na de aardbeving op 23 oktober 2011. De film volgt Siddik, Atilla en Eso die aan de nawerking en de gevolgen van de natuurramp het hoofd proberen te bieden.
