synopsis

The film follows the turbulent road trip of the artists Aay and Zed, as they tour a new performance piece across the US. They capture the daily joys and tensions of their friendship and collaboration through the lenses of their phones as they struggle to live up to their mantras of feminist empowerment. Dressed in matching outfits there is no escape from each other or from the expectations they set for themselves as artists. Their delusional optimism soon fades as they are faced with each other's insecurities and have to fight to stay connected.
De film volgt de turbulente roadtrip van de kunstenaars Aay en Zed, die met een nieuwe performance door Amerika touren. Ze leggen het dagelijkse plezier en de spanningen van hun vriendschap en samenwerking vast via hun telefoons, terwijl ze ondertussen worstelen om de mantra’s van hun feministische empowerment waar te maken. Gekleed in bij elkaar passende outfits is er geen ontkomen aan elkaar of aan de verwachtingen die ze zichzelf opleggen als artiesten. Hun misleidende optimisme vervaagt snel als ze worden geconfronteerd met elkaars onzekerheden en als ze moeten vechten om verbonden te blijven met elkaar.
