When Jen’s old boyfriend, Oscar, returns to her small town in southern Ireland, she is forced to face the tragedy that marked them both for life.

synopsis

At 16, Jen and her boyfriend Oscar mistake her younger sister for a deer and accidentally shoot and kill her. This event leaves lasting scars on Jen and her family, and leads to Oscar leaving the town, breaking all contact between them. Now aged 42 and divorced, Jen is suddenly confronted with the past when Oscar returns. Meanwhile, a poacher is killing deer in the neighbourhood, a violent reminder of their tragic history.
